Greece Schengen visa 2026 · Last updated: June 2026 · Reviewed by the Gulliver Travels visa team
Planning Santorini, Athens or a multi-country Europe trip? We help UAE residents of any nationality prepare a strong Greece Schengen visa application — application form, documents, insurance and VFS Global appointment support in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, across all emirates. We prepare your file; the Greek consulate decides.
Most UAE residents need a Greece Schengen visa (Type C) — only Emirati passport holders are visa-exempt. You complete the Schengen visa application form, then submit your documents and biometrics at VFS Global in Dubai or Abu Dhabi — Greece is one of the few Schengen countries that accepts submissions at either UAE centre, overseen by the Consular Office of the Embassy of Greece in Abu Dhabi. Processing typically runs 10–15 working days, lets you travel all 29 Schengen countries, and qualifying applicants can be considered for a multiple-entry visa. Gulliver Travels prepares your file end to end.

A Greece Schengen visa is a short-stay Type C visa for tourism, business, or visiting family and friends. It lets you stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period and travel across all 29 Schengen countries — making Greece a popular gateway to Europe for UAE residents.
Greece is a favourite Schengen destination from the UAE — direct flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Athens, plus easy onward island-hopping to Santorini, Mykonos, Crete and Rhodes. It's also one of the more convenient Schengen applications for UAE residents, since VFS Global accepts submissions at either of its UAE centres rather than just one.
Apply through Greece when it's your only or main Schengen destination (where you'll spend the most nights). The process is finalised in person at VFS Global, either in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Gulliver Travels completes your Schengen application form, builds a clean document file and a strong cover letter, and guides you through the appointment so nothing avoidable slows you down. Whether you need a visa depends on your passport nationality, not your UAE residency. Your UAE residence visa lets you apply from here rather than your home country — but it doesn't replace a Schengen visa.
Indian, Filipino, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Egyptian and most other passport holders need a Greece Schengen visa, applied from the UAE with valid residency.
Since 2015, UAE passport holders can visit Greece and the Schengen Area visa-free for short stays of up to 90 days.
UAE residents of any nationality can apply from the UAE, provided their residence visa is valid (commonly 3+ months beyond return).
The exact checklist can vary by travel purpose, but a strong, consistent core file is what wins approvals. Make every document current, legible and matching your application.
What's typically expected differs slightly depending on your situation in the UAE.

Unlike some Schengen countries that funnel every applicant into a single UAE city, Greece gives you a choice. Knowing this can save you a long drive and a longer wait for a slot.
The Consular Office of the Embassy of Greece in Abu Dhabi oversees the visa section and has outsourced collection of applications and biometrics to VFS Global here.
Embassy CityResidents of Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah can also submit their Greece application at the VFS centre in Dubai, without travelling to Abu Dhabi.

We Handle ItThe consulate decides your validity, entries and permitted stay — always read your visa sticker carefully. Multiple-entry visas follow the same Schengen-wide rules whichever Schengen country you apply through.
Your stay allowance is counted across the whole Schengen Area, not per country — you can't get 90 days in Greece and another 90 in Italy.
Under the EU's standard cascade rule, applicants who have lawfully used two Schengen visas in the previous three years can be considered for a longer multiple-entry visa — at the consulate's discretion.
Processing depends on season, appointment availability, your file and any additional checks. Plan ahead — especially for summer and year-end travel.
This is typical after submission, but not guaranteed. In peak periods (June–August and December) it can extend further. You can apply up to 6 months ahead, so it's worth securing your appointment as early as possible.
Your Greece visa cost has a few layers. All government and VFS fees are paid in AED at the centre; we give you the exact, itemised total for your case.
The Greek government fee, paid when you submit. Reduced for children 6–12 and free for under-6s.
VFS Global's service charge per application, paid in AED at the Dubai or Abu Dhabi centre.
Schengen travel insurance (min €30,000) plus optional VFS extras (SMS, courier, premium lounge) and our service fee.
No agency can guarantee approval — the decision belongs to the Greek consulate. But most refusals and delays come from avoidable issues.
Applying through Greece when it isn't your main destination, or an itinerary that doesn't match your bookings.
Statements that don't credibly cover the trip, or sudden unexplained deposits, raise doubts.
Missing insurance, under €30,000 cover, or a policy that doesn't span all Schengen states and the full trip.
Little evidence you'll return — job, business, family or residence stability all help your case.
Details that don't match across form, passport, statements and bookings invite questions.
Leaving it close to travel risks no appointment slots and missed dates, especially in peak season.
Approval is never guaranteed, but these habits give you the best possible application.
VFS appointments for Greece can fill fast in peak season — apply 4–6 weeks ahead.
Bookings, dates and cover letter should align with Greece as your main destination.
Avoid last-minute deposits; show a natural, healthy balance history.
Min €30,000, all Schengen states, full trip duration — we arrange it.
Past Schengen visas can support a longer multiple-entry visa.
